Ruben Correa is an Editor based in CNN’s Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong, supporting US news coverage under the company’s follow-the-sun news model.

Correa joined CNN in 2018 as a copy editor for CNN en Español, where he supported news production for TV and digital platforms and temporarily led the copy editors and writers’ team. He was part of the team that won an Emmy Award for coverage of the 2019 Barcelona riots. In 2020, he moved to the FactCheck team, editing English and Spanish content, and received another Emmy for his work on CNNE’s documentary “Narcofiles: el Tren de Aragua.”

Correa began his journalism career at 17, studying journalism at Escuela Superior de Periodismo and economics at the University of Buenos Aires. He has worked for The Wall Street Journal, Univision, Telemundo Internacional, S&P Global Platts, and various Argentine, Spanish and Mexican publications. He received the ADEPA-Reuters Financial Journalism Prize for investigative reporting and a Philip Morris Argentina Fellowship for business journalists.

Born in Buenos Aires to a Brazilian mother and Argentine father, Correa is bilingual in Spanish and Portuguese and has experience in translation and interpretation. Outside work, he is an award-winning fiction writer and avid photographer.
