




Mounira Elsamra is a News Associate in the CNN News Associate Program based in New York. A bilingual multimedia journalist with a passion for producing impactful and engaging news content, Elsamra provides support on translation, video production and newsgathering for CNN’s International Hub.
Elsamra’s translations have been instrumental in CNN International’s coverage of significant global events, including the ongoing Israel-Hamas war and the conflict in Sudan. She has also covered conflicts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, contributed to US election coverage and produced live coverage for the shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia. She has also reported on complex topics such as identity, xenophobia and social issues.
Before joining CNN, Elsamra gained valuable experience as a multimedia journalist during her internship with Thomson Reuters in Cairo, Egypt, where she researched, filmed and edited news packages with a focus on climate change and environmental issues.
