Michelle Watson is a reporter with CNN’s National News Hub, where she helps shape and deliver national stories across the network’s platforms.
Since joining CNN in 2017, she has contributed to major coverage from Hurricane Irma to the Parkland shooting, first as an editorial review assistant and later as a researcher on CNN’s Fact Check team. In that role, she was central to the network’s fact-checking during the 2020 presidential election.
In her current role, Michelle draws on her background in live production, research, and editorial strategy to drive high-impact reporting in a fast-paced news environment.
Outside the newsroom, she serves as Region 1 Coordinator for the Society of Professional Journalists, overseeing student and state chapters across the Northeast. She holds a degree in mass communication with a minor in History from Louisiana State University.
