
Krista Bo Polanco is a Producer and Host for CNN Podcasts. She hosts CNN 5 Good Things, a weekly podcast spotlighting uplifting and inspiring stories from around the world. She also writes for and voices episodes weekly for the CNN 5 Things podcast, bringing listeners the latest headlines and key developments on the biggest stories in the US and around the world in under 5 minutes.
Other CNN Podcasts Polanco has helped produce are CNN Political Briefing, CNN One Thing, and the third season of Tug of War, focused on the Israel-Hamas war.
Polanco first joined CNN in 2017. Prior to working with the CNN Podcasts team, she was a CNN Production Assistant cutting tape and producing graphics before quickly becoming a Segment Producer writing anchor scripts and commentaries. She worked predominately with CNN’s weekend TV programming teams – including S.E. Cupp Unfiltered, Smerconish, Newsroom and New Day – covering topics from US politics to global affairs, to entertainment and legal news.
Polanco has also worked on various CNN special event productions – namely the CNN and Sesame Street town halls produced in 2020 in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis.
Polanco grew up in New Jersey as the oldest daughter of four and as a CODA – child of a deaf adult. She is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, where she studied Journalism and Media Studies.
