Kit Maher is a White House reporter and writer for CNN.
Maher was previously a Campaign Producer/Embed who traveled the country during the 2024 presidential election, most recently covering Vice President-elect JD Vance. During the Republican primary, she covered the presidential campaign of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
For the 2022 midterms, Maher was placed in Pennsylvania, where she tracked the gubernatorial race between Josh Shapiro and Doug Mastriano, as well as the Senate race between John Fetterman and Mehmet Oz.
Along with her extensive experience with shooting video, writing, reporting and producing in the field, Maher often contributed on CNN’s Capitol Hill team and previously worked in the control room for the Emmy-nominated show, The Lead with Jake Tapper. She began her career at CNN as a News Assistant in 2019, operating the teleprompter in Atlanta, before becoming an Associate Producer for CNN Newsroom shows with Ana Cabrera, Brianna Keilar and Brooke Baldwin.
Maher is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
