













Kevin Broad is a multiple award-winning photojournalist based at CNN’s Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong.
In his role, Broad covers breaking news and major events in Asia-Pacific and around the world. In 2025, he and his team won Excellence in Video Reporting for their story “CNN witnesses high-stakes confrontation at sea between China and the Philippines” at the SOPA Awards.
Broad also films long-form feature programs and documentaries across an array of topics, including travel, health, technology and sustainability. Most recently, his work in “Tech For Good: Robotics Inspired by Nature” and “Tokyo By Night” won him and his team the Best Infotainment Programme and Best Lifestyle Programme at the 2025 Asian Academy Creative Awards, respectively.
Prior to joining CNN full time in 2021, Broad worked in film and television as a director of photography and cameraman for more than two decades in more than 90 countries. He was previously based in London, Dubai, Phnom Penh and Madrid.
