












Karina Tsui is a National News Desk Reporter at CNN’s Asia headquarters in Hong Kong, where she covers breaking news and feature stories in the overnight US hours.
Since joining in 2024, Tsui has reported on major global stories, including President Donald Trump’s sweeping immigration crackdown, California’s deadly wildfires, the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and pro-Palestinian protests across US college campuses.
In late 2025, Tsui was on the ground covering the deadly apartment fires in Hong Kong’s Tai Po district –– speaking with survivors and family members mourning lost loved ones.
Before CNN, Tsui was a reporter at Semafor, where she covered international affairs. Her work has also been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic and Monocle.
Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, Tsui holds a Master’s degree in investigative reporting from Columbia Journalism School, and a Bachelor’s degree from New York University.
