Jeremy Diamond is CNN’s award-winning Jerusalem correspondent.
Since the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 attack on Israel and the ensuing war in Gaza, Diamond has reported extensively from Israel, Gaza and the occupied West Bank for CNN.
His work has frequently highlighted the devastating impact on civilians and focused on holding those in power to account.
He has played a leading role in CNN’s coverage of the Middle East, including the US and Israel’s war in Iran, reporting from the front lines and leveraging his sources in the region and in Washington to shed light on fast-moving developments.
His field reporting, interviews and investigative reports have earned him two Emmy Awards and seven Emmy Award nominations.
In 2026, Diamond took home the Emmy Award for “Outstanding News Interview: Short Form” for his exclusive interview with senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad, in which Diamond pressed Hamad on the group’s responsibility for the ongoing suffering in Gaza.
He has also led groundbreaking investigations into alleged Israeli war crimes in Gaza and has reported extensively from the West Bank, where he and his team have been attacked by Israeli settlers and detained by the Israeli military for their reporting.
Diamond sits on the board of the Foreign Press Association (FPA) in Israel and the Palestinian territories, where he has advocated for independent press access to Gaza.
He was nominated for “Outstanding Emerging Journalist” at the 2024 Emmy Awards and was a finalist for the Livingston Awards the next year, recognizing exceptional reporting by journalists under the age of 35.
Diamond previously served as a White House correspondent for CNN based in Washington, D.C., where he covered President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump and the 2020 election. His White House reporting earned him a spot on Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list in 2022.
Prior to that, he travelled across the country as an embedded reporter covering the Trump campaign, from Trump’s ride down Trump Tower’s golden escalator to Election Day.
Diamond joined CNN as a political reporter for CNN in September 2014 after two previous internships with the network. He graduated Cum Laude from The George Washington University with a degree in international affairs. He is fluent in French and conversational in Spanish and Hebrew.
