Jacob Imber is a Product Editor on the Editorial Product Strategy team. He leads initiatives that bridge the newsroom and product teams to innovate CNN’s digital journalism. In this role, he designs story formats, oversees product experimentation and develops editorial strategies that grow and engage CNN’s audiences.

Jacob Imber is a Product Editor on the Editorial Product Strategy team. He leads initiatives that bridge the newsroom and product teams to innovate CNN’s digital journalism. In this role, he designs story formats, oversees product experimentation and develops editorial strategies that grow and engage CNN’s audiences.

Prior to joining CNN in 2025, Imber worked at The New York Times on the Newsroom Development desk, where he rolled out a global commenting platform, created a newsroom-wide programming strategy and built AI tools to analyze engagement metrics. His previous work spans broadcast production, newsgathering, magazine writing and investigative reporting.

Originally from Chicago, Imber is a Fulbright Scholar who earned master’s degrees from Columbia Journalism School and IE Business School in Madrid. He received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and lives in New York.
