Before joining CNN’s staff, David produced, shot, and edited projects for leading global media outlets in more than 25 countries around the world. His work has taken him to the frontlines of major historic events, including the COVID-19 outbreak in Brazil, the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
David’s reporting has earned multiple Emmy nominations. He was part of CNN’s award-winning coverage of the Ukraine war, which received both the Alfred I. duPont–Columbia Award and the RTS Award in 2023.
He studied philosophy and politics at Heidelberg University and the Universidad de Chile, and speaks English, Spanish, German, and Portuguese.
