David Rind is a reporter and producer for CNN Podcasts based in New York City. He hosts CNN One Thing, where he highlights the best of CNN reporting each week through intimate conversations with fellow CNN correspondents and reporters.
Most recently, Rind hosted Tug of War: Israel-Hamas War, taking listeners on the ground in Israel with CNN reporters documenting the escalating conflict, revealing what it means for the rest of the world. He was nominated for two 2024 Ambies Awards - Best Podcast Host and Best News Podcast - for his work on the show.
When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Rind hosted and produced a special open-ended season of the Tug of War podcast, bringing listeners to the frontlines through conversations with CNN correspondents on the ground.
He also regularly hosts, writes and produces CNN 5 Things audio updates.
Prior to joining CNN in 2021, Rind was an audio producer at ABC News for nearly a decade. He helped to develop and launch the network’s first daily news podcast, Start Here and was instrumental in executing nearly every aspect of its daily production for more than three years. The show won an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2019 for Excellence in Innovation.
Rind also produced and engineered multiple live, breaking news events for ABC News Radio, including remote broadcasts from the 2016 national political conventions in Cleveland and Philadelphia.
In 2012, he spent a summer as the radio play-by-play announcer for the Brooklyn Cyclones, a New York Mets minor league affiliate.
Rind grew up in Illinois and New Jersey. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University, where he majored in sports management with a minor in journalism.
