Dave Alsup is a Supervising Producer with CNN’s National News Hub, the company’s multi-platform unit responsible for US newsgathering and video pursuits. He directs pursuits and editorial focus on top domestic stories with a focus on video. During his two decades at CNN, Alsup also served as a Supervising Editor with CNN’s National Content Center, weekend Director of Coverage, a regional manager for the National Desk, and hurricane desk manager.
He previously served as a managing editor and assignment manager in the Houston and Seattle television markets. During his almost four decades’ tenure in news, Alsup lead reporting initiatives on several historic news events, including the kidnapping of Mark Kilroy, the death of Kurt Cobain, the arrest of the Green River Killer, the Boston Bombings, the Gulf oil spill, and countless disasters both natural and manmade.
Alsup attended graduate school at the University of Mississippi and undergraduate school at the University of North Alabama.
