Casey Gannon is a Producer on CNN’s Crime and Justice team, where she covers major legal stories and works closely with CNN’s Chief Legal Affairs Correspondent, Paula Reid. In this role, she has reported on high-profile developments including Senate confirmations of Justice Department leadership, legal battles surrounding the 2024 presidential election, and landmark Supreme Court decisions.

Gannon began her career at CNN as a newsgathering intern on the justice team, covering the aftermath of the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. She later transitioned to a News Associate role on the justice team, contributing to coverage of the federal grand jury investigations involving then-former President Donald Trump. She also previously served as an Assignment Editor on CNN’s Washington, D.C. Desk.

She graduated in 2022 from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. A Pittsburgh native, Gannon currently resides in Washington, DC.
