
Ben French is Senior Vice President of New Business at CNN Worldwide, where he leads the team responsible for developing standalone, non-news digital products that enrich users’ lives and drive CNN’s subscription business.
Before joining CNN, French was Vice President of Product at Conde Nast, where he oversaw the company’s subscription technology stack as well as the websites and apps for the company’s portfolio of brands, including The New Yorker, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Wired and Bon Appetit.
French has a demonstrated track record of innovating new products and business strategies in the media industry. Prior to Conde Nast, French held various product management and strategy roles at The New York Times, where he worked for 9 years. As a part of The Times standalone products division, he served as the product lead for NYT Now, led the acquisition of Wirecutter and was instrumental in the development of NYT Cooking and Crosswords.
French’s earlier career includes senior roles at RollingStone.com and CBS Interactive.
French holds an MBA in Finance/Entertainment, Media & Technology from NYU and a B.A. in Journalism Indiana University. He resides in Brooklyn with his wife and their two daughters.
