



Allison Lau is an award winning multimedia journalist and feature video producer at CNN based in New York City. In her role, she creates visually compelling, socially impactful stories across digital, social, television, and streaming platforms. Lau produces, shoots, and edits a wide range of features—from cultural phenomena to profiles of bold innovators, contributing across CNN’s culture, business, style, health, and news enterprise verticals.
Lau joined CNN in 2025. Prior to that, she worked as a producer and editor at NBC News, CNBC, VICE, and Condé Nast Entertainment. Her work has earned multiple industry honors, including a Gracie Award nomination and recognition as a Digiday Greater Good Award finalist.
She received the Editor & Publisher EPPY Award for Best Investigative Documentary for her reporting on New York City’s Rikers Island jail system and has also been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists and Columbia Journalism School with the Peter Keller Award for Excellence in Editing.
Originally from California, Lau holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where she graduated with honors in video production, and a bachelor’s degree in literary journalism from the University of California, Irvine.
