Briana Waxman is a meteorologist and a Senior Weather Editor on CNN’s weather and climate team, covering extreme weather and its intersection with the climate crisis.
Briana joined CNN from The Weather Channel, where she spent nearly a decade in various roles, including weather producer and digital meteorologist, transforming meteorological data into clear, engaging forecasts, stories, and visuals across broadcast and digital platforms.
Briana has been passionate about making weather and climate science accessible and providing people with the information they need to stay safe since experiencing Hurricane Gloria and Hurricane Bob as a child.
Originally from New York City, Waxman has a BS in Meteorology from Cornell University, an MS in Atmospheric Science from North Carolina State University, and an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Washington.
