Ben Weltman is Vice President, VOD, Streaming for CNN. He leads a team focused on developing and producing premium video on demand content that extends CNN’s journalism across platforms and enhances audience engagement.

Weltman has nearly two decades of experience in streaming, digital video, longform content, and broadcast journalism. Most recently, he served as Deputy Head of Video at The Wall Street Journal. During his time at WSJ, he oversaw the newsroom’s video operation—leading teams responsible for breaking news, original series formats, investigative reporting and digital projects. Under his leadership, WSJ video achieved record-high traffic and engagement, earning two Emmy awards, including Outstanding Science, Technology or Environmental Coverage for a show he executive produced on how technology can help us tell our stories long after we die.

Prior to WSJ, he spent more than a decade at Dateline NBC and NBC News, where he produced longform and breaking news content from all seven continents. Weltman also held editorial and producing roles at Meet the Press, Hardball with Chris Matthews and with NBC’s Political Unit, contributing to election coverage and political reporting across multiple cycles.

Weltman is a graduate of American University and is based out of CNN’s New York bureau.
