Tube takes a trip back in time —
To celebrate its 150th anniversary, London Underground has created a series of Tube maps made entirely from Lego.

Tube of the future —
The maps show how the Underground looked at various points in its history, and provide a futuristic impression of the network.

Lego labor —
Each map is made up of more than a thousand Lego bricks and took at least four days to build (but kids didn't build them).

Steam power —
The Tube is one old railway -- in fact, the world's oldest underground train system. Steam-powered carriages were used when it opened in 1863.

Forgotten platforms —
"Ghost stations": The Underground has many disused stops, some retaining original platform furniture and advertising.

Rail futures —
"We hope the maps will inspire the young engineers of the future," said a London Underground spokesman. The Lego maps will be displayed at Tube stations throughout the summer.
