The amazing attention to detail in the craftsmanship is reminiscent of Islamic architectural styles, where patterns flow uniting different spaces. These wooden screens divide, while also allowing transparency on the main floor.

No expense or effort was spared when the designs for Palau Guell were created. Beautifully crafted oak panels, highlighted with gold leaf, cover the lower part of the walls in the visitor's hall. The palace interior is a real showcase of Catalan craftsmanship.

On the main floor the ceiling is constructed with an elaborate panelling, crafted from eucalyptus and cypress trees. On the sides huge stone columns separate the windows from the main space, acting like a sculptural curtain wall.
