Lydia Maurer: Creating fashion collections that have an afterlife
Paco Rabanne Artistic Director Lydia Maurer: "I think as a designer the hardest part is really to conciliate between what it is you want, and what it is the public expects."
Lydia Maurer: "It's not just about clothes, it's not just about putting something on your body, because we already have enough of that ... it's about basically making something that has a story."
Lydia Maurer: "For me really the moment when I feel most alive is in the middle of the night when I've been drawing all day and I've finally cracked it, I've finally got that drawing -- the line that I really wanted."
Lydia Maurer: "What's important is really to tell a story through the touch; through the way the light falls on something. Through the way it moves, when the girls walk ... to create an emotion, that's what is really important for me."
Lydia Maurer: "What's most difficult for everyone is to stay true to themselves, to what they really stand for."
Lydia Maurer: "I think that you need to really stay focused on what you love and not go adrift by saying: "Ok, I think maybe I need to be more out, I need to be seen more, I need to be in the social scene."
