Finding a slice of paradise at TPC Sawgrass

Best-known as the venue for The Players Championship, TPC Sawgrass, in Florida, is also home to thousands of residential properties. It wouldn't be Florida without the occasional alligator, a potential problem given the number of houses with outdoor pools - but Burchell says their presence is rarely felt. But it's the community's other course that takes center stage. The TPC Stadium course is home to PGA Tour headquarters and The Players Championship. Residents stock up on supplies and hunker down for a week of partying during the tournament, enjoying private seating and a host of events, such as a military appreciation day held at the iconic TPC Sawgrass clubhouse. Sam Greenwood / Getty Images

The clubhouse, which offers a variety of restaurants is just one of many amenities available to residents. Players Park, in the community's center, offers recreational sports facilities as well as playing host to various festivals and events throughout the year. Rebecca Burchell
