Holy Cow, Chicago Cubs fans! The curse has officially been lifted.
In an epic World Series Game 7, the Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in extra innings after a rain delay that forced groundskeepers to pull out the tarp at Progressive Field.
After losing an early lead, the Cubs pulled ahead in the most dramatic fashion in the 10th inning to win its first World Series since 1908.
As expected, Chicago fans far and wide were beyond belief after spending a lifetime known as lovable losers.
Here’s how Cubs fans are celebrating:
They gathered in Wrigleyville to cheer on the Cubs.
In his final game, Cubs catcher David Ross hit a home run.
As the game went on, Cubs fans scaled the walls at Wrigley Field.
They also scaled the fences of nearby homes to watch on TV.
Bill Murray bought beers for fellow Cubs fans.
Some likened the game to a “religious experience.”
The Cubs briefly lost the lead, making fans nervous as the game was suddenly tied.
The rain stopped play before the 10th inning.
Then the Cubs took the lead. Fans went wild.

At last.
One person predicted this would happen…in 2014.
Fans wrote in chalk the names of their late loved ones on Wrigley Field.
Fly the W, Cubs fans.
Hillary Clinton was excited about the Cubbies.
So was Bob Newhart.
The Empire State Building also got in on the action.
Even NASA said “congratulations” from high above Chicago.
Predictably, it was nuts in the locker room.
Go on, raise that trophy, Cubs manager Joe Maddon.
Go on, Cubs, visit a south sider at the White House.
Go, Cubs, go.
