Lewis Hamilton rebounded from the bitter disappointment of the Monaco Grand Prix to claim his fourth F1 victory in Canada Sunday ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg.
Behind the dominant Mercedes pair, the final podium position was claimed by Finland’s Valtterri Bottas of Williams.
Hamilton fourth win of the 2015 campaign sees him extend his title lead to 17 points over Germany’s Rosberg and will be some consolation for events a fortnight ago.

Leading the prestigious Monaco GP, Hamilton was surprisingly called in by his team for a pit stop under a late safety car, relegating him to third behind Rosberg and second-placed Sebastian Vettel.
It left the Briton fuming and for Mercedes to issue a public apology to him, admitting its error.
Hamilton, defending his world championship, responded by taking pole position at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal and the outcome never appeared in doubt after a clean start.

It was his 37th career win, taking the checkered flag by just over two seconds from Rosberg.
“Did I need this ? Yes, I think I did,” said Hamilton at the victory celebrations.
“I love this track and love this city and it’s great to get back on the top step,” he added.
Bottas was claiming the first podium of the season for the Mercedes-powered Williams team, holding off the Ferrari pair of Kimi Raikkonen and Vettel, who had to battle his way to fifth after starting from 18th on the grid following problems in qualifying Saturday.

Brazilian Felipe Massa also battled from a lowly grid position for sixth in the second Williams ahead of Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado, who completed his first race of the season in seventh for Lotus.
But there was no respite for the under performing McLaren team with Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button both failing to finish.
