Turkey's ban on the social media service Twitter has been lifted.
CNN  —

Turkey’s ban on the social media service Twitter has been lifted, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s office said Thursday.

The announcement comes a day after a Turkish court ruled that the country’s ban on Twitter violates the right to free expression and demanded that citizens’ access to the popular microblogging service be restored.

Three people had filed complaints to the Constitutional Court after the Telecommunications Directorate blocked access to Twitter.

Several Twitter users in Turkey told CNN on Thursday that the social media service is now functional inside the country.
