Juventus moved to within a point of Serie A leaders Roma on Sunday night after a resounding 3-0 victory over Napoli in Turin.

The home side were ahead inside the second minute when Fernando Llorente fired home but had to wait until deep into the second half before sealing the three points.

Two goals in six minutes did the trick – Andrea Pirlo doubled the lead in the 74th minute before Paul Pogba wrapped things up with a volley in the 80th minute.

Not even Angelo Ogbonna’s dismissal three minutes later could take the shine off the result.

Defeat leaves Rafa Benitez’s Napoli side in third place with 28 points while Juve have 31, one less than Roma who dropped points for the second successive week after only managing to draw 1-1 with Sassuolo in the Stadio Olympico.

An own-goal from Alessandro Longhi in the 19th minute gifted Roma the lead and that’s how it stayed until the fourth minute of injury time when Domenico Berardi stepped up to grab a last-gasp equaliser for the Serie A strugglers.

Roma now have 32 points from 12 games and host Cagliari in their next league match on November 25.

AC Milan’s winless league run extended to four games after a 0-0 draw at bottom-of-the-table Chievo.

Milan, who were without suspended striker Mario Balotelli, also finished the game with 10-men after Riccardo Montolivo received a second yellow card with nine minutes remaining.

In Serie A’s other Sunday fixtures, Genoa beat sixth-place Hellas Verona 2-0 to move up to seventh. Atalanta rise to ninth following a 2-1 over Bologna while Cagliari move up to 13th after beating Torino 2-1.

Fiorentina beat Sampdoria 2-1 while Parma and Lazio played out a 1-1 draw.

Over in Spain, Barcelona extended their lead at the top of La Liga to three points following a 4-1 win at Real Betis.

First-half goals from Neymar and Pedro and a second-half brace from Cesc Fabregas ensured Barca wrapped up a comfortable win. Jorge Molina scored from the penalty spot in injury time to give the hosts a belated consolation goal.

Second-place Atletico Madrid are now only three points ahead of city rivals Madrid after a 1-1 draw at fourth-place Villarreal.

Elsewhere, Valencia drew 2-2 with Valladolid while Sevilla beat Espanyol 3-1.
