Six men charged with terrorism-related activity in Britain last week appeared in court Monday and were ordered held in custody until later this month.
Three men accused of planning to be suicide bombers, plotting a bombing campaign, constructing homemade bombs and recruiting others for terrorism were ordered held until October 21.
Irfan Nasser, Irfan Khalid and Ashik Ali will appear by video link for their Old Bailey court hearing on that date.
Rahin Ahmed, who is charged with collecting money and managing money for terrorism and with helping others to travel to Pakistan “for training in terrorism,” appeared with them and was ordered to do so again on October 21.
None asked for bail.
Two other men charged with lesser offenses were ordered held in custody until their next court appearance on October 24 at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Bahader Ali and Mohammed Rizwan are both charged with raising money for terrorist purposes and withholding information that could have been used to prevent an act of terror.
Bahader Ali was the only one of the six who requested bail. His application was rejected.
All six men appeared in court bearded and and wearing black sweat tops.
All spoke only to confirm their names, ages and addresses.
