Lauren Cook is a Writer and Producer based in London. She is currently working across Isa Soares Tonight, which airs on CNN International. While her work covers all aspects of news, she specializes in conflict and social justice.

She previously worked for CNN digital in both New York City and London. During her time in that role, she covered breaking news and produced longer-form pieces, notably on police brutality in India, the anniversaries of Syria’s civil war, and East Africa’s desert locust plague, which won an EPPY award and a Society of News Design award.

Cook also produces in the field for CNN. She has traveled to the U.S.-Mexico border to report on a little-known massacre, covered terror attacks and mass shootings, reported on the UK Election in Scotland and investigated a U.S. federal program ensnaring Muslims from getting immigration benefits, to name a few. Her work has featured interviews with high-profile leaders and celebrities such as Serena Williams, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Tommy Hilfiger, Lin-Manuel Miranda and many more.

Since joining CNN in 2016, Cook has worked across CNN in various production and administrative roles. In addition, she worked on CNN Audio, producing and voicing the “Five Things” podcast.

Cook grew up outside of Baltimore, Maryland. She holds a Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism from Elon University in North Carolina, and a Masters degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
