Wayne Chang is a China News Desk Producer for CNN International based in Hong Kong. He is primarily focused on covering breaking news and feature stories across the Greater China region. He has played a key role in CNN’s coverage of major stories in the Asia Pacific region, including US House of Representative Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s historic visit to Taiwan and its fallout.

Prior to joining CNN, Chang worked at a leading global business intelligence firm for six years, where he managed and conducted numerous in-depth background checks, fraud detections and investigations into senior executives and conglomerates across the Greater China region and the United States. He also provided official training to journalists on public record research.

Chang has also freelanced for various international and regional news outlets, including Al Jazeera, the HuffPost and UDN Global. He received a Cross-Strait Relations and Mainland News Reporting Award from Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council for his coverage of the 2014 Hong Kong protests.

Chang received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hong Kong, where he studied economics and journalism. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
