Thomas Page is a writer on the features desk, based in London. He specializes in arts and culture coverage – particularly film – writing and producing for CNN Digital and CNN International.

Page’s work at CNN focuses on original reporting and in-depth distinctive features. Interview highlights in film include actors Willem Dafoe and Michelle Williams, Academy Award-winning filmmakers Bong Joon Ho, the Daniels and Chloé Zhao, Palme d’Or winners Ruben Ostlund and Julia Ducournau, and blockbuster directors Denis Villeneuve and Cary Joji Fukunaga.

Page regularly reviews and contributes features from film festivals including Cannes, Sundance, Toronto and London. He frequently covers world and art house cinema, interviewing filmmakers including Park Chan-wook, Ari Aster and James Gray on multiple occasions. He has written profiles of rising stars like French Senegalese director Mati Diop, and under-the-radar talents like Kiran Shah, the world’s smallest stuntman. He has also explored themes in pop culture, writing deep dives into the multiverse, zombies and dementia on screen.

Beginning in 2021, he wrote articles and produced digital videos for series CNN Film School, in 2022 started monthly feature Anywhere But Hollywood, and in 2023 created multiplatform strand CNN Screen Time, writing, producing and commissioning for CNN International and CNN Digital.

Page joined CNN in 2015, and since 2016 has managed various series and special projects. He has held feature writing beats covering Africa and the Middle East, and contributes to CNN Digital’s environment, style and travel coverage. He has written a wide range of longform features, exploring scientists in Antarctica preparing humans for Mars, the global beef industry and a history of World Expos in 40 objects.

Page holds a master’s degree in comparative literature from University College London and a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from the University of Leeds.
