About

Mick Krever is an award-winning senior field producer based in London.

In this role, Krever travels the world reporting on major international stories and managing editorial output for the network’s TV and digital platforms. He works with correspondents, photojournalists and local producers in the field to tell deeply human stories.

Since its outset, Krever has been an integral part of CNN’s coverage of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He has spent months on Ukraine’s frontlines alongside the network’s most senior international correspondents, documenting major battlefield developments and shedding light on the impact of the war on ordinary Ukrainians. Whilst in the field with CNN Chief International Correspondent Clarissa Ward, Krever reported on the use of rape as a weapon of war in Russian-occupied villages.

Krever has also reported extensively on the climate crisis, particularly focusing on the impact of climate change on ordinary people, and has covered the unique impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, such as in his piece documenting the anguish of a Covid-era funeral held over Zoom. He has reported from Syria, Iran and Gaza, and was at the Kabul Airport during the chaotic withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan in 2021.

Prior to becoming a full-time field producer, Krever worked as a senior producer for CNN Chief International Anchor Christiane Amanpour. He helped manage the output of her daily flagship interview program Amanpour. Together, they travelled from Jakarta to Sarajevo, Moscow to Marrakesh, producing live and taped interviews with newsmakers and world leaders. Krever also produced Amanpour’s live town hall with Hillary Clinton, which was her first interview since losing the 2016 US presidential election. For his work alongside Amanpour, Krever won two Emmy Awards.

Krever started his career at CNN as an intern for Senior United Nations Correspondent Richard Roth. Later, as a producer for Roth, Krever covered the UN Security Council during the most devastating period of the Syrian Civil War. He was part of the CNN team that won a Peabody Award for coverage of the downfall of ISIS.

Krever was born and raised in New York. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. He is fluent in Dutch.
