Lauren Kent is a News Desk Producer based in London. She covers breaking news and tells stories across CNN’s television outlets and digital platforms.

The US-native focuses on newsgathering, editorial, and features across the EMEA region and has played a vital role in some of CNN’s leading coverage of the climate crisis, gender equality, and the coronavirus pandemic.

She also produces in the field for CNN, pitching and executing her own stories for various multi-platform projects, notably on the fight against climate change and Britain’s feminist movement. She has produced major international news events for CNN including its coverage of the COP26 climate conference, NATO summits, and Brexit.

Kent also writes feature articles for CNN Digital’s wellness and science teams, with a particular focus on health, fitness, and psychology.

Kent first joined CNN in Atlanta in 2017 and has since worked across CNN’s international newsgathering teams in various broadcast production and operation roles in London. Her previous work includes writing for The Raleigh News & Observer and Pew Research Center’s Fact Tank blog.

Kent holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Broadcast Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as well as a Master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
