Lamide Akintobi is a Multiplatform Producer for editorial sponsorships based in Lagos, Nigeria, producing features across a wide range of topics for CNN’s TV and Digital platforms.
Akintobi is an award-winning former news anchor, journalist, and show host at leading African networks which broadcast globally.
She pitches, produces, and writes for CNN’s Africa-focused shows, including Inside Africa, Africa Avant-Garde, African Voices Changemakers and Marketplace Africa, interviewing notable African entrepreneurs, innovators, and cultural icons. She also contributed to digital and news coverage during Nigeria’s #EndSars protests, and other CNN initiatives including Call to Earth.
Lamide joined CNN in 2020. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism & Spanish from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and a Master’s Degree in International Journalism from City University, London, where she was a Chevening Scholar. She is fluent in English, Yoruba and semi-fluent in Spanish.
