About

Gabe Cohen is a CNN correspondent, based in the network’s Washington bureau.

Cohen joined CNN in 2021 after serving as a national reporter at TEGNA, helping to launch their national Verify initiative and crafting long-form stories on complex topics, from COVID-19 vaccine trials to election integrity.

Prior to TEGNA, Cohen was a lead reporter and weekend anchor at KOMO News in Seattle, earning a reputation as a dogged reporter who held officials accountable. Cohen has won several regional Emmy and Murrow Awards for his storytelling. Some of his most memorable reporting includes his coverage of the 2019 crane collapse in Seattle, the 2017 Amtrak derailment in DuPont, Washington, and years of devastating wildfires across the Pacific Northwest.

Cohen started his career at KHQ Local News in Spokane, Washington. Originally from New York, he grew up in a family of journalists and attended Northwestern University. Cohen and his wife are the proud owners of a sleepy basset hound named Arthur.
