Em Steck is a writer and researcher of CNN’s KFILE – the leading investigation team for the social, mobile generation. KFILE is widely praised as a “scoop team,” known for breaking news by scouring the internet through research, fact checking, and investigative reporting.

Prior to her role at KFILE, Steck covered the Russia investigation in Washington D.C. for CNN, where she helped stake out the special counsel’s office and the US District Court. Prior to that, she worked as a freelancer in content marketing.

Steck received a bachelor’s degree in film and media arts from Temple University and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

Originally from the Philadelphia suburbs, Steck has lived in Philadelphia, London, Chicago and Washington. She currently resides in New York City.
