Before moving to Australia, Watson was a Newsdesk Producer at CNN’s Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Hong. He has covered some of the region’s biggest stories for the network, including the 2020 Australian bushfires, Hong Kong’s 2019 summer of protests and the 2018 Thai Cave Rescue. Before joining the International Desk, Watson was an Associate Producer with CNN’s Global Features team, creating premium multi-platform content on topics ranging from travel to technology.
Prior to CNN, Watson worked in Thailand for not-for-profit television service The Democratic Voice of Burma. He holds a Master of Human Rights degree from the University of Sydney.
