Kit Maher is a Campaign Producer with CNN’s Political Unit. She is embedded in the 2024 presidential race.

Kit covered the U.S. Senate and gubernatorial races in Pennsylvania throughout the 2022 midterm elections, traveling across the Commonwealth reporting, writing and shooting video. Maher previously worked as a Video Producer for the Emmy-nominated live news program “The Lead with Jake Tapper” in Washington, DC, where she was responsible for gathering, cutting, coding and calling video elements for daily live shows. Maher has played an essential role in CNN control rooms across a variety of breaking news situations, including the war in Ukraine, the United States’ withdrawal from Afghanistan, the coronavirus pandemic, several mass shootings and the deaths of Queen Elizabeth, Kobe Bryant and Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Before her time in DC, Maher worked at CNN’s headquarters in Atlanta as an Associate Producer for “CNN Newsroom with Ana Cabrera.” Maher also worked for several other CNN Newsroom shows hosted by Brooke Baldwin, Brianna Keilar and Pamela Brown. In addition to her role on Newsroom shows, on Sundays during the coronavirus pandemic, Maher worked on Special Editions of “The Situation Room” with Wolf Blitzer from control rooms in Atlanta. Maher’s first job at CNN was as a News Assistant, where she operated teleprompter in Atlanta, including for three Democratic Presidential Town Halls. Prior to CNN, Maher worked at MassLive.com in Western Massachusetts. Maher hails from Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, completing her English degree on the New England Literature Program in New Hampshire.
