President Donald Trump delivered his second State of the Union address on Tuesday night, and the House chamber looked quite a bit different this time around.

Now the Democrats have the House majority, and it was Nancy Pelosi — not Paul Ryan — sitting behind Trump with Vice President Mike Pence. The 116th Congress is also the most diverse Congress in history, with a record number of women.

Because of the record-long government shutdown, Trump's speech came a week later than originally planned. It started with a call for bipartisanship.

"We must reject the politics of revenge, resistance and retribution — and embrace the boundless potential of cooperation, compromise and the common good," Trump said.

But it didn't take long for Trump's irritation at Democrats to rise to the surface.

"An economic miracle is taking place in the United States — and the only thing that can stop it are foolish wars, politics or ridiculous partisan investigations," the President said. "If there is going to be peace and legislation, there cannot be war and investigation. It just doesn't work that way."

"The agenda I will lay out this evening is not a Republican agenda or a Democrat agenda," Trump said at the start of his speech. "It is the agenda of the United States."

During his speech, Trump made clear that he is not wavering on his demand for a US-Mexico border wall. After a 35-day government shutdown that resulted in no border wall, Trump vowed in his speech to "get it built."

"No one has benefited more from a thriving economy than women who have filled 58% of the newly created jobs last year," Trump said. After the Democrats stood up, Trump joked: "You weren't supposed to do that. Thank you very much." Lawmakers erupted into song to wish happy birthday to Judah Samet, one of Trump's guests. Samet, an 81-year-old Holocaust survivor, was one of the survivors of a synagogue massacre that left 11 people dead in Pittsburgh last year. When the song broke out, Trump joked, "They wouldn't do that for me, Judah."

Other topics from Trump's speech included fairer drug pricing and efforts to fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic. He talked about troop withdrawals in Syria and Afghanistan, and he also formally announced the dates for an upcoming summit — his second — with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
