DiverXO (Madrid, Spain): Spanish chef David Munoz poses in his restaurant DiverXO, which placed at No. 20 this year.

Narisawa (Tokyo, Japan): At No. 19, chef Yoshihiro Narisawa's eponymous restaurant serves up some of the finest examples of Japanese winemaking.

Piazza Duomo (Alba, Italy): Piazza Duomo, at No. 18, is praised by the awards for its "inventive, artistic Italian dishes matched with superb wines."

A Casa do Porco (São Paulo, Brazil): Pork crackling with guava is one of the dishes at this São Paulo restaurant which made it to No. 17.

Elkano (Getaria, Spain): Elkano rose from No. 30 up to No. 16 this year.

Lido 84 (Gardone Riviera, Italy): On the shores of Lake Garda, Lido 84 -- which serves this spaghettone with butter and dried yeast -- made it to No. 15 and was the Highest New Entry.

Mugaritz (San Sebastian, Spain): This confection of shrimp and ice is part of what helped Mugaritz get to No. 14 this year.

Don Julio (Buenos Aires, Argentina): At No. 13, Don Julio was the only Argentinian restaurant to make the top 50.

Steirereck (Vienna, Austria): This Vienna restaurant made it to No. 12 and won the Art of Hospitality Award.

Den (Tokyo, Japan): The 2019 winner of the Art of Hospitality Award, Den held onto its position at No. 11.

The Chairman (Hong Kong): The Chairman jumped up 31 places from the last awards, up to No. 10, making it this year's Highest Climber.

Pujol (Mexico City, Mexico): Pujol rose three places to No. 9 and held onto the title of Best Restaurant in North America.

Odette (Singapore): Odette jumped ten places to No. 8 and was named Best Restaurant in Asia.

Maido (Lima, Peru): One of two Lima restaurants in the top ten, Maido rose three places to No. 7.

Frantzén (Stockholm, Sweden): One of three Scandinavian restaurants in the top 10, Frantzén shot up the rankings from No. 21 to No. 6.

Disfrutar (Barcelona, Spain): One of two Spanish restaurants in the top five, Disfrutar rose four places this year.

Central (Lima, Peru): Central climbed two places to No. 4, holding onto the award for Best Restaurant in South America, and Pía León was named Best Female Chef.

Asador Etxebarri (Axpe, Spain): Asador Etxebarri held onto the No.3 spot while Victor Arguinzoniz won the Chef's Choice Award.

Geranium (Copenhagen, Denmark): Chef Rasmus Kofoed's Geranium is one of two Copenhagen restaurants at the top of the list.

Noma (Copenhagen, Denmark): René Redzepi's world-famous restaurant reopened in 2018 and has now reclaimed the top spot on the list.
