
1. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport remains the busiest passenger airport in the world for 2014 with 96 million passengers, according to preliminary traffic reports from Airports Council International.

2. Beijing Capital International Airport kept its second-place spot, with 86 million passengers in 2014, according to the industry trade group's report.

3. London Heathrow Airport retained third place with 73 million passengers.

4. Tokyo's Haneda Airport kept fourth place, with nearly 73 million passengers in 2014.

5. Los Angeles International Airport moved into fifth place with 70 million passengers last year. It also ranked third on the list of airport movements (takeoffs and landings).

6. Dubai International Airport moved up one spot with more than 70 million passengers to take sixth place.

7. Chicago O'Hare International Airport dropped two spots to land in seventh place with nearly 70 million passengers. But the airport came out on top of the list of takeoffs and landings, known as airport movements.

8. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport remained in eighth place with nearly 64 million passengers last year.

9. Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport kept ninth place with nearly 64 million passengers.

10. Hong Kong International Airport kept 10th place in total passenger traffic, with 63 million passengers. The airport also kept first place in total air-cargo traffic, with 4.4 million metric tons.
