
1. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (United States). The Atlanta, Georgia, airport is the busiest passenger airport in the world, handling more than 107 million passengers in 2018, according to Airports Council International.

2. Beijing Capital International Airport (China). This airport serving China's capital city may catch up to the Atlanta airport one day, flying nearly 101 million passengers in 2018.

3. Dubai International Airport (United Arab Emirates). With 89.1 million passengers in 2018, Dubai ranked third in overall passenger traffic and first for international passenger traffic.

4. Los Angeles International Airport (United States). Los Angeles has several airports from which to choose, but its largest airport still flew 87.5 million passengers in 2018 and moved up one slot to fourth place in the rankings.

5. Tokyo's Haneda Airport (Japan). Serving 86.9 million passengers in 2018, Haneda dropped from fourth to fifth place last year, behind Los Angeles.

6. Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (Illinois, US). While O'Hare remained in sixth place for overall passenger volume, with 83.2 million passengers, it came in first place for airplane movements (takeoffs and landings).

7. London's Heathrow Airport (United Kingdom). This London airport flew 80.1 million passengers in 2018, also ranking second place for international passenger traffic.

8. Hong Kong International Airport (China). While this Hong Kong airport served 74.5 million passengers in 2018, it dominated the total air cargo traffic rankings, coming in first place.

9. Shanghai Pudong International Airport (China). Although Shanghai came in ninth place for moving 74 million passengers, it was ranked third for total air cargo traffic in 2018.

10. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (France). This French airport remained in 10th place for another year, serving 72.2 million passengers in 2018, a 4% increase over 2017.
