Pool in the train: As the host city of the upcoming 2017 Summer Universiade, Taipei has transformed a metro train into different sports venues, including a swimming pool.

3D art: A reaslistic water surface was created using 3D illustration techniques.

Best summer carriage: The swimming pool carriage has been the most popular so far, but there are other sport-themed cars.

Sports venues: The other five cars are designed to resemble running tracks, a soccer pitch, a baseball field, a basketball pitch and a field for throwing sports.

Raise awareness: "Many people are still unfamiliar with -- and have never stepped inside -- some of the sports venues, we hope to bring sport closer to their daily life," a spokesperson for Taipei's Department of Information and Tourism tells CNN.

Public participation: "By choosing to revamp a train -- an everyday means of commuting, the public will have the opportunity to participate," says the spokesperson.

Like the real thing: The designs on the train are made to be close to the scale experienced in real-life venues.

Fun facts: Special handles are installed with fun facts about the games printed on them.
