
Mezcal de pechuga: Made by hanging a raw chicken breast (or hen, rabbit, or turkey) over the still where the mezcal is being distilled, the drink has a very interesting flavor.

Tuna tears soju: Fluid from the eye of a tuna fish is mixed with soju to make tuna tears soju. The combination results in a beverage with a jelly-like consistency.

Sinchicara: An Ecuadorian drink produced in Sucumbíos province, it is essentially a cane brandy.

Healing agent: Sinchicara is used as a cold medicine (great for those living in the Andes), a soother for those with rheumatoid arthritis, and for those suffering from problems in the bedroom, it's also an aphrodisiac and libido booster.

Tongba (millet beer): Essentially a warm beer perfect for those cold Himalayan evenings.

Boza: Made from fermenting boiled flour, giving it a slightly sour but sweet taste, boza is somewhat of a national pastime in Bulgaria and countries in the Caucuses.

Out of the past: Dobrina Zhekova, a freelance journalist from Bulgaria, tells CNN travel that she remembers drinking boza all the time growing up.

Mamajuana: The Dominican Republic staple is made with bark, but families all have their own recipes for the aphrodisiac.

The Sourtoe Cocktail: Served in a shot glass with Yukon Jack or tequila, the drinker has to take a swig and let the toe touch their lips.

Supplies: Toes "are very hard to come by these days," Adam Gerle, general manager of Dawson City's Downtown Hotel, told CNN in June.
