China's Panjin Red Beach Wetland: Dubbed "China's most romantic leisure coastline," the 6,667-hectare mudflat in the Red Beach National Scenic Corridor is blanketed in red every fall, thanks to the presence of a unique type of seepweed.

Now in bloom: Panjin's seepweed begins to sprout in spring and blossoms in red as early as July. This photo was taken on August 7, 2020.

Changing red hues: The red hue gets more vibrant closer to fall and peaks in September and October, turning the coastal mudflat into a crimson carpet. This aerial photo shows off five stars that were placed on the Red Beach to form the Chinese national flag.

Suaeda Salva: There are around 100 varieties of seepweeds, also called Suaeda. But most of them are green, making Panjin's "Suaeda Salsa" a unique attraction.

Scenic path: A meandering wooden path has been built on the mudflat, allowing visitors to walk over the Red Beach.

Two million annual visitors: According to the Red Beach Wetland Resort Administrative Committee, the area attracts more than 2 million tourists annually.

Other attractions: The marshland is also famous for its mitten crabs and bamboo shoots.

A diverse habitat: The wetland is home to more than 260 different species of migratory birds, including endangered black-billed gulls and wild red-crowned cranes.
