Monumental building: Renderings of the Old War Office, in Whitehall, London, previously home to the war offices of military leader Winston Churchill, show how it's been transformed into a luxury hotel.

Grand opening: After being closed to the public since it was built more than a century ago, the Old War Office is opening its doors in late September following a multi-million-dollar transformation.

Historic elements: The hotel's grand marble staircase lined with red carpet with the original logo from the Old War Office is among the original Edwardian features within the property.

Elegant rooms: Raffles London, a collaboration with the late French architect Thierry Despont, has 120 rooms and five heritage suites.

Powerful address: "This will be the very first time that the public are able to access this staggering piece of British history, and we have worked tirelessly to create a destination which preserves the heritage of this significant address, whilst breathing new life into it," says Philippe Leboeuf, managing director of the hotel.

Unique history: Originally completed in 1906, the iconic building has undergone an extensive renovation, and is one of this year's most highly anticipated hotel openings.

Plush suites: The hotel's five heritage suites consist of the two-bedroom Churchill suite, formerly the Army Council Room and the one-bedroom Granville suite, named after celebrated Polish agent Christine Granville,

Beautiful ballroom: Raffles London also holds a stunning ballroom, which can be booked for parties, weddings and corporate events, and is already said to be in high demand.

Luxury spa: London's first ever Guerlain-brand spa, which stretches over four levels and holds a 20-meter swimming pool, will be located at the hotel.

Prime location: The hotel is situated in Whitehall, which extends from Trafalgar Square to the Houses of Parliament.
