Sushi in the snow. The Lodge of Ten Peaks at Lake Louise Ski Resort is home base for visitors, pre-, mid- and après-ski. Aside from the main cafeteria, there is also a sushi bar and lounge called Kuma Yama.

Skiing sisters. Kimberley (left) and Robin Locke, the sisters who run Lake Louise Ski Resort along with their parents, grew up going to the resort. Both left other careers to return to take charge of the family business.

Backcountry strong. For more intrepid skiers and hikers, choose the backcountry Skoki Lodge, which is only accessible by
traversing an 11-kilometer trail (almost 7 miles) from the village of Lake Louise.

The Post Hotel. This hotel's Temple Mountain Spa offers some of the best treatments in town, as well as a Roman style, saltwater pool with glorious views.

A snowy chateau. The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, a majestic chalet that abuts the lake, is an idyllic location for ice skating, snowshoeing and stargazing.
