Romance in El Nido: It's not hard to fall in love with El Nido. Located in the southwestern island of Palawan, the area is home to private plots of sand, coral reefs, limestone cliffs and jungle-fringed islands.

The Birdhouse: This Philippines retreat is the brainchild of Mark-Anthony and Camille Dimson Villaflor. It's a back-to-nature addition to the El Nido scene that takes some legwork to find.

Never-ending honeymoon: The couple built the glamping retreat after traveling around the world on a 16-month-long honeymoon -- documented on their blog 365 Travel Dates.

Marimegmeg Beach: The Birdhouse is located at the end of popular Marimegmeg Beach, high above the beach bars and crowds.

Directions: To find it? Get dropped off by Las Cabanas beach outside of El Nido and walk along the shore until you hit a coconut stand.

Forest trek: Follow the signs on a trek through the forest. Finally, a stairwell leads travelers up a lush mountainside where contemporary tents are visible between the tree branches.

Mother Nest: At the very top of the stairs is the Mother Nest -- an open-air lobby and restaurant overlooking El Nido's iconic Bacuit Bay from a unique angle.

Eclectic: Designed by Camille, the communal house has an eclectic vibe, featuring romantic hanging bamboo chairs, Moroccan-style rugs and a library of travel books.

Furnishings: Each Nest sits on a stilted platform in the trees. Inside the canvas flaps, there's a queen-size bed, sunny yellow carpets and locally made wooden furnishing.
