How to eat in New York —
Need a New York meal tip? From breakfast to dinner, here are some great ones, starting with a perfect roasted cod with spring vegetable ragout from The Four Seasons. Details on where to find all these dishes are in the story below.

Breakfast: Norma's at Le Parker Meridien —
Some say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. At Norma's at Le Parker Meridien, it's the tastiest as well, especially if you order the chocolate decadence French toast.

Lunch: Friedman's —
With four Friedman's locations from downtown to uptown, you're never far from incredible fried chicken and waffles. You'll have to arrange your own post-feed nap.

Lunch: Locanda Verde —
Trendy spots with months-long waiting lists for dinner usually have open tables at lunchtime. In Tribeca, Locanda Verde, co-owned by Robert De Niro, is great for an A-List afternoon meal, perhaps including My Grandmother's Ravioli.

Breakfast: Russ & Daughters —
There are endless places to grab a fast bagel or other breakfast item, but Russ & Daughters is one we keep going back to.

Lunch: Uncle Gussy's —
For a cheap street eat, the freshly carved lamb gyro is the top pick at Uncle Gussy's, an insanely popular food truck run by two brothers. Mom makes the tzatziki sauce.

Breakfast: Balthazar —
At Balthazar, "eggs any style" includes "en cocotte" (baked in a ramekin with cream), in puff pastry (scrambled with wild mushrooms and asparagus) or Norwegian (poached with smoked salmon), with the occasional side of celebrity-sighting.

Dinner: Tortilleria Nixtamal —
You'll have to hop over to Queens for the chorizo and nopal tacos at Tortilleria Nixtamal, but if you're in New York you should check out Queens anyway.
