Pastry chef Zac Young of New York restaurant David Burke fabrick came up with his own take on the piecaken -- a pie baked into a cake -- for Thanksgiving 2015. His version, consisting of 1/3 apple turnover cake, 1/3 pumpkin pie and 1/3 pecan pie, renewed interest in the culinary mashup.
