Cake Central —
If you're looking at this someplace where it's not cool to drool, better look away now. Austrian cakes have no mercy when faced with weak-willed dieters.

Austrian apple pies —
Not a handy pie chart showing how tasty Austrian cakes are -- the apple pie is one of several internationally beloved dishes said to originate in Austria.

Jam doughnuts —
Austria's gift to law enforcement. The jam doughnut is another Viennese creation that expanded beyond the city.

Kirschkuppel —
Seriously? You're going to eat all three? Austria's passion for patisseries reputedly arose because having a well-rounded figure was seen as a sign of wealth.

Original Sachertorte —
The Original Sachertorte is a stone cold cake classic, created for a prince and now sold at Vienna's Sacher Hotel. Its name was the subject of a long-running dispute.

Imperialtorte —
Any hotel worth its sugar in Vienna has created its own treat. The Hotel Imperial's Imperialtorte was reputedly created in honor of Emperor Franz Josef I to mark the hotel's 1873 opening.

Imperial crown cake —
Sometimes it's not enough to create a cake fit for a king. Sometimes you have to create a cake shaped like a crown that's fit for a king.

Faberge egg cake —
Or a cake, shaped like a boat ... inside a giant Faberge egg. This is one of many spectacular confections on display at the Vienna's Demel Museum.

Window displays —
Demel's shop windows are famous throughout the city and when they're changed a huge crowd forms to see the new decorations.

Who's that girl? —
Whoa! Yes, this cake in the Demel museum really is supposed to be a life-sized replica of Madonna. Time to start the diet again.
