On Thursday, high-speed train operator Eurostar unveiled the new e320 train, which will go into service next year. The train is named for its max speed -- 320 kph, or 200 mph.

Eurostar plans to add a direct service to Provence next year and a direct route to Amsterdam in 2016.

Italian design studio Pininfarina designed the trains, which have been outfitted with roomier interiors and 20% capacity. There are also more wheelchair accessible seats in the new trains.

There is also a newly designed buffet car. Rounded edges and a cool, white color scheme lend the car an air of "chic", according to Eurostar chief executive Nicolas Petrovic.

The unveiling coincided with Eurostar's 20-year anniversary.

Eurostar's chief executive, Nicolas Petrovic, is overseeing some grand expansion plans for Eurostar. In the next couple of years, the train company's destination network is planned to extend into Belgium and the Netherlands.
